Marcus Hainsworth is a seasoned cricketer and former captain of Belmont District Cricket Club in the Newcastle District Cricket Association (NDCA). Renowned for his leadership and contributions to the club, Hainsworth has been a pivotal figure in Belmont's cricketing endeavours.

Marcus appeared in 3 finals in the first grade NDCA competition, winning one of those against Toronto in the 08/09 season. Marcus dominated with the bat that year and led the run scoring chart for the NDCA, scoring 694 runs @36.53, including a 50 in the final. Marcus was a fine wicket-keeper in his own right and represented Newcastle at a representative level.

Hainsworth captained Belmont's first-grade team, leading them through various seasons with a focus on building a strong team culture and strategic play. His leadership was instrumental in guiding the team to several finals appearances, including a notable match against Wests in 2021, where the team narrowly lost in a thrilling decider.
