Belmont District Cricket Club | June 27, 2025
What year were you born?
1997.
Tell us about your cricket journey.
Started at Swansea at the age of 8 and played one season. I have been playing for Belmont ever since.
How would you describe yourself as a cricketer?
I’d call myself a batting allrounder. Medium pace bowler, more towards the slower side now.
What do you enjoy most about playing cricket?
The team environment.
What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket so far?
Winning the u/21’s as the underdog and as captain. Saw the best spell of bowling by anyone in a Belmont shirt in my time. Luke Muddle put on a clinic.
Who’s your favourite all-time cricketer?
Adam Gilchrist.
Who is the fastest bowler you’ve played against?
Mark Cameron.
Who is the best spinner you’ve played against?
Any spinner gets me out, so I can’t give you a name.
Who played the best innings you’ve seen firsthand playing with or against?
Luke Muddle’s first ton in first grade. Got us a reasonable score while wickets fell around him.
Who is the best wicket keeper you’ve had the good fortune to play with?
Marcus Hainsworth. Cussy was an incredibly gifted keeper and an even better bloke. Also, the best captain I ever had the pleasure of playing with.
Is there a young player in your club you’d like to nominate as a player to watch?
Ned Halligan. He’s going to be a fantastic cricketer once he develops a bit more in the coming years.

Who are the two players you’ve come to admire most in your club in terms of skills and competitive spirit?
Two players who aren’t at the club anymore, but the ones I admire most are Marcus Hainsworth and Mark Littlewood.
Mark Littlewood
What are the two attributes you like to see in a captain and a leader?
Lead by example and the ability to bring the team together.
Who’s considered the biggest pest at your club?
Josh Muddle by country mile. The bloke doesn’t know how to keep his lid shut.
Favourite location, city or country as a holiday destination?
So far in my time, I have to say either the Netherlands or Japan.
Who’s been the biggest influence on your career so far?
It was Marcus Hainsworth, but as I went through my injury, I’d say Clay Stevenson. Clay pushed and pestered me to come back and play, and I’ll be forever thankful he did.
Where do you find inspiration that gets you through challenging times?
I try and flip perspectives and just try to remember how lucky we are in this big world. Everything we have is a privilege at the end of the day.
Who are the three people in the world you’d love to meet and talk to?
Robin Williams, Steve Irwin and Shane Warne. Unfortunately, they are not with us, but those three.
Robin Williams
What do you like to do to relax outside of cricket?
Watch sports and play video games.
If working, what do you do?
I work as a forklift driver for Sanitarium Health and Wellbeing. The Weetabix factory
Do you have a favourite quote?
Life moves pretty fast; if you don’t stop and look around every once in a while, you could miss it. (Ferris Bueller's Day Off).
What are your goals for the next season?
Make it through injury-free and score a ton, and most importantly, win a trophy!!!
What would it mean to you to play first-class cricket?
If I were asked this when I was younger, I would say it means the world, but now not so much. I enjoy helping the younger guys be the best they can be.
