Fourth Grade also played consistently throughout the season, finishing second for the finals series. A loss in the qualifying final meant that they became the lowest ranked team for the semi-finals. They snuck home eight wickets down in the semi to reach the final against Randwick Petersham at Coogee Oval. After gaining a first innings lead by passing the home team nine wickets down, they had their noses in front early on day two. An attacking declaration followed by a regular fall of wickets in our second innings left us nine down again with an hour to bat. The heroics by Nathan Whittingham and Blake Miller as they held on for a draw will live long in the memories of those who were there to see the thrilling climax.
