Druhv Kant – The Gloveman

The talented wicketkeeper / batsman joined Parramatta from the Blacktown Club at the start of the 2020/21 season.
He was immediately selected in First grade and his presence enabled skipper Nick Bertus to handover the keeper’s role and focus on his batting and captaincy duties.
Druhv is nimble and sharp behind the stumps, and with the bat, the right-hander possesses a fighting temperament, fine array of strokes and his industrious approach to batting ‘ticks the scoreboard over at a positive rate.’
In 2020/21 his career with Parramatta got off to an impressive start, he batted confidently in all formats compiling 559 runs @ 39.92 (H.S. 126* v. Hawkesbury) – adding valuable depth to the team’s batting lineup. His wicket-keeping was very sound (22ct / 4 st) and he took out the club’s Bill Lambert Award for the most dismissals. Added to that he won selection in the NSW Metro U.19 team.
Between seasons 2021/22 and 2024/25 his overall game has continued to develop and mature. His middle-order batting has remained consistent and productive in all formats – 2021/22 = 449 runs @ 28.06 (H.S. – 71), 2022/23 = 390 runs @ 20.53 (H.S. – 69, 2023/24 = 428 runs @ 29.86 (H.S. – 66), and 2024/25 = 471 runs @ 31.40 (H.S. – 73).
Likewise, his keeping skills have grown especially his work ‘over the stumps’ to the slow bowlers and he has again been rewarded with the Bill Lambert Award in 2022/23 - 37 dismissals (36 ct / 1 st), 2023/24 -35 dismissals (35ct), and 2024/25 – 44 dismissals (36 ct / 8 st),
Druhv has been a key member Parramatta’s premiership winning teams in Poidevin-Gray Shield (2020/21), and First Grade Belvidere Cup victories in 2022/23 and 2024/25. He proved to be a man for a crisis in both the above Belvidere Cup triumphs. In the 2022/23 Grand Final v. Sydney University Parramatta after batting first, were in dire trouble against the strong Uni attack, reeling at 3/64, but Druhv in concert with Ryan Hackney ‘stopped the rot and steadied the innings’ by compiling a match-saving 134 runs 4th wicket partnership. The 2024/25 G.F. v. Fairfield offered a similar scenario when he strove to the crease with the Parramatta innings teetering at a wobbly 4/74, but Druhv stood strong again, combining with the free-scoring Andrew Calvert to produce a match defining 5th wicket partnership of 122 runs.

Batting:
· Premier Cricket = 2,345 runs @ 29.68 (H.S. – 126*).
· Poidevin-Gray Shield = 713 runs @ 50.93 (H.S. – 79).
(In each of his three seasons (2020/21 – 2022/23) Druhv won the club’s Harold ‘Mudgee’ Cranney Batting Award). He captained this team in 2022/23.
Wicketkeeping:
· Premier Cricket = 163 dismissals (144 ct / 19 st). During 2024/25 he snared in a single innings – 6 catches v. Bankstown and in the Grand Final v. Fairfield – 5 catches.
· Poidevin-Gray Shield = 20 dismissals (12 ct / 8 st).
The Parramatta club look forward to watching this fine young cricketer’s career further unfold in future seasons.
