Isaac Earl – A Paceman in a Hurry
Parramatta District Cricket Club | December 19, 2025

Isaac Earl, the Parramatta District Cricket Club’s First grade opening bowler is a young paceman in a hurry. He made the meteoric rise from A.W. Green Shield in 2020/21 to sharing the new ball in Parramatta’s Belvidere Cup winning team in 2024/25.
Tallish and of a slim, wiry build Isaac is a clever fast-medium bowler of pin-point accuracy who possesses the ability to regularly seam and move the new ball. He ‘persistently probes away’ pressuring opposing batsmen into a loose shot and the loss of their wickets.
He is also developing into a handy lower-order batsman, whose calmness at the crease has proved useful in a crisis over the past couple of seasons. This was best illustrated by his outstanding 54 not out in the 2024/25 Qualifying Final v. Hawkesbury – with Parramatta in deep trouble at 6/135 Isaac dug in and guided them to an eventual match-winning total of 231.
Whilst in his final season of A.W.G. he also ‘dipped his toe into NSW Premier Cricket’ in Parramatta’s Fifth grade team in 2020/21. Straight away he stood out as a youngster of definite talent by capturing 28 wickets @ 10.89 – the showpiece being a devastating 7/14 to rout Manly.
Over the succeeding two seasons Isaac hovered between grades learning his trade and by 2022/23 he given a taste of Second grade by the club selectors and became a regular in the club’s Poidevin-Gray Shield team.
Isaac’s breakthrough season occurred in 2023/24 when strong early season form in Second grade – 17 wickets @ 12.52 (B.B. – 4/28) – propelled him to First Grade (Player Number – 621). He took to the top grade like a ‘duck-to-water’ retaining his opening bowling spot for the remainder of the season and playing in the Belvidere Cup Semi-Final against the powerful St. George team. Isaac’s performance of 20 wickets @ 18.00 (B.B. – 4/28) was a promising performance from the youngster and made his season’s total wicket haul an impressive 37 wickets @ 15.49 (1sts – 20 / 2nds -17).
The 2024/25 season saw it all come together for Isaac Earl, he formed and outstanding new ball partnership with the club’s pace ace Michael Sullivan and this combination spearheaded Parramatta to claiming its third NSW Premier Cricket’s First grade Belvidere Cup premiership since 2017/18.
At this juncture in his career Isaac has become a highly competitive and skilful paceman whose repeated accuracy and consistency is being rewarded with wickets. His 2024/25 all formats bag of 43 wickets @ 20.93 (B.B. – 5/31 v. Bankstown, 4/27 v. Sydney University, 4/58 v. Penrith, 4/63 v. Mosman, 6/30 v. Hawkesbury [QF]) bears testimony to his developing prowess.
The undoubted highlight of his 2024/25, apart from the receipt of his First grade premiership ring, was the wonderful individual performance he produced against Hawkesbury in the Qualifying Final – 6/30 with the ball and 54* with bat in hand – a top-class all-round achievement.
His form continues into the current 2025/26 season in which he has snared 5/50 v. Sutherland and 5/27 v. Sydney University.
