Welcome to the Hawkesbury Cricket Club Presentation Night for season 2025/26 – 10 May 2025
This season marks the Club’s 40th in the world’s strongest club competition formerly known as Sydney Grade Cricket, now the NSW Premier Cricket competition. Tonight we gather at the Windsor Function Centre, where almost 40 years ago, the inaugural Presentation Night was held in the same room. That night was full of excitement after the Club’s inaugural season. Despite the struggle the season had been with only a handful of wins across the grades, and a remarkable final round tie in 1st Grade, the mood was one of hope and optimism for what lay ahead. There was a strong belief in the room that there was the potential within the Club and the district, for the Hawks to become a force in the competition. Everyone there was just excited to be part of it.
Over the 40 seasons of the Club, we have had several Premierships in lower grades and the age competitions Green Shield and PGs, plus numerous additional finalists and playoff qualifiers. We have produced almost a “production line” of young talent that has represented in State and National teams, including 2 Australian Test players, 3 Australian One-Day Internationals and 2 Australian T20 representatives. Several Hawks players have played Sheffield Shield, Big Bash and State 2nd XI, whilst many have filled places regularly in State age squads, since our inauguration in 1985.
