Yallop’s declaration left South Australia with the shopping task of 271 runs to win off 24 overs. South Australian captain David Hookes, well known for his attacking flair was not impressed.
So much so, he elevated himself to opening the batting with Rick Darling.
What happened next became a moment in time as Hookes tore the Victoria bowler to shreds scoring 100 off just 34 balls to register the fastest century in the history of first class cricket. When Hookes brought up his century his opening partner Darling had scored just 7 runs.

A little proud dad moment.
In the the midst of zillion things happening around me, I'm super happy to share the great news that Kaya has been honoured with the ‘Junior Female Player of the Year’ and the ‘Best Batter of the Year' award by Cricket NSW for U13 girls. I believe, she might be the youngest recipient in the history of Cricket NSW to receive these awards. This has been a fabulous present for her 12th birthday.
Congratulations to all the other super talented award winners as well - it was truly an outstanding and jam packed event!
Throughout the rep season, Kaya broke numerous records, notably becoming the highest aggregate run scorer in junior girls rep/district cricket history, including U15, with an impressive 399 runs at an average of 99.75 with a strike-rate just over 100%. This includes a quick fire of 106*, playing just 9 games of 30 over Mollie Dive matches, and also making her the youngest to achieve this milestone. Kaya has also had taken 7 wickets along with 9 catches as a Vice-Captain for Parramatta. In addition, she has done some handy contributions playing in U15 comp as well.
Also, Kaya scored more than 1,000+ runs 2 years in a row and taken several wickets (61+42) playing club matches with boys and senior girls too.
I'd like to extend my gratitude to all the coaches at PDCA and PWGCC for allowing her to train with the grade players. Without your support, her success wouldn't have been possible.
Hope she continues to play the game we love this way for some more years... although she's the top basketball player in the state.

As news broke that Virat Kohli is a heck of a bloke, the collective Australian cricket audience gasped in horror.
How could it be? We can’t be wrong, can we!!??
This is the guy who stole Agro’s eyebrows and fast-moving mouth. He’s the man responsible for some of the ghastliest high-pitched squealing heard as a form wicket celebration. He’s the same man who called Steve Smith a cheat before, well, you know, he got caught cheating..
How could we be so wrong!!??

This is the cap I was wearing when I scored 178 not out for the old Sydney Cricket Club against Mosman at Rawson Oval in October 1984.
After the first day’s play we were 9 for 299 and had faced 99 overs.
Back then if a team hadn’t been bowled out they had to face 100 overs so it meant we had to bat for one over on the 2nd day. I got a single off the first ball and Mark Denny blocked out the over before we declared.
My 178 not out was especially pleasing as Paul Jarvis (England opening bowler) was playing for Mosman.
