Andrew played the majority of his junior and senior cricket in the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association.

What were your strengths as a player?

In my late teens, early 20s, I worked really hard on my keeping and hardly batted at training, and as a captain, thought I gave all my teams a good chance to win the game. Best place to captain was from behind the stumps.

On 4th October 1987, Penrith Cricket Club hosted Western Suburbs in a one day game where it’s believed there was a crowd of 2,000 in attendance.

It was a day where both clubs international and state players were playing. Penrith team included NSW representatives Rod Bower and Trevor Bayliss and Western Suburbs team included Australian internationals Dirk Wellham, David Gilbert, Greg Matthews and NSW representatives Brad McNamara, Scott Hookey and Chris Killen.

The publicity and promotion before the game generated the enthusiasm to see one of the biggest crowds ever at Howell Oval

Peter Dickson spent 20 years making a name for himself as one of the most prized wickets in Victorian Premier Cricket. After coming through the junior ranks at Melbourne, ‘Dicko’ moved to Fitzroy Doncaster, turning out for the Lions 246 times in the top grade while captaining them to flags in 2015/16 and 2016/17, before retiring at the end of last season.

Peter is a member of the Cricket Victoria 200 club having played 298 first games and scored 10,045 runs at an average of 37.67 including 15 centuries and 54 half centuries.

With the ball Peter took 200 wickets at 22.96 with best figures of 7 for 42 and took 5 wickets in an innings on 4 occasions.

Vale Robert Allan

Stockton & Northern Districts Cricket Club are deeply saddened by the passing of Life Member Robert Allen.

Robbie was a not only a long time player and committee member but a lifelong supporter of the club.

Robbie held the role of treasurer during arguably one of the clubs most successful periods in the 1970s and 1980s.

We pass on our deepest condolences to Robbie's wife Kris and the family and friends.

Jim Dixon made his first grade debut for University of NSW in 1979 after moving to Sydney from his home town of Goulburn.

He took 397 first grade wickets at an average of 25.10 and his best figures were 5 for 44. He took 5 wickets in an innings on 11 occasions.

In a grade career with UNSW spanning from 1979 to the 2006/07 season Jim played 402 games taking 561 wickets at 22.98 and scored 7,724 runs at 23.06 including 5 centuries and 37 half centuries.

Bill Edrich DFC (1916 – 1986) was a first-class cricketer who played for Middlesex, Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), Norfolk and England.

His three brothers, Brian, Eric, and Geoff, and also his cousin, John, all played first-class cricket. Locally in Norfolk the Edriches were able to raise a full team of eleven. In 1938 a team composed entirely of Edriches beat Norfolk in a one-day match.
