In 1964, BRIAN ROBERTS (#114) took 7-48 against an under strength Uralla, giving him 12-93 for the match. Waratahs won outright by 9 wickets.

B grade lost their match against TAS but PETER BARRETT (#186) scored his best bowling figures for the club, taking 9-85 in the narrow loss.

Waratahs 182 (P Newsome 90, Ray McIntyre 40) and 7-158 (B Charlton 43, Peter Barrett 37x, Keith Dawson 29, P Newsome 21); lost to TAS (198 (Peter Barrett 9-85)

In 1987, GRAHAM FROST (#333) performed the rare feat of taking 5 catches in St Peters innings of a low scoring 1st grade match. Brian Rhodes (#525) made 41 of Waratahs 115 and then took Michael Connolly (#293) 6-44 but St Peters still managed to take first innings points. Frosty, in his most unfavoured role of wicketkeepr, held four catches from Conno. James Campbell (#382) set the town with a quick fire 86 on the second day, as Waratahs went at six an over in order to attempt the outright.

PETER MURPHY (#535) tore through St Peters in 2nd grade, taking 7-19. Waratahs then batted the first day out at four an over to declare with a lead of 166 at stumps. Steve Hadfield (#524), Tony Sheen (#543), Bede Ryan (#503) and Andrew Davis (#354) were at the top of their game with the bat. Murphy maintained his dominance with 4-25 off 19 overs (11-44 for the match) in St Peters second innings to given Waratahs a comfortable outrigh victory.

MARTIN CAMPBELL (#490) and PETER LANGSTON (#357) added 103 for the 3rd wicket after Campbell and Simon Joyce (#512) had added 75 for the 2nd. When Langston was run out, the good start was wasted as Waratahs, batting one short, slumped from 2-191 to 216 all out. Joyce and Albert Hofkamp (#476) reduced Uni Vets to 2-20 at stumps.

In 1992, wicketkeeper ANDREW WILLIS (#675) was added to the best performance in a match list, first making 5 dismissals (4 catches and a stumping) in Wollomombi's 219 and then remaining 52 not out by stumps. The scorecard for the second day is unavailable.

The history of a proud club which grew men from boys through the simple act of trusting them with something very precious.

Favourite players: Life members: Alan Gray, Harry Deiderick, Graham Johnson, Ian Campbell, Syd Philp, Graham Patterson, Albert Hofkamp & Peter Langston.

Favourite grounds: Wicklow Oval (Rologas Fields), Harris Park, West Armidale Park (Lambert Park), The Armidale Sportsground

All-time cricket hero: Any bloke in the Royal Blue cap.

Favourite bat: The one that scored the most.

Most memorable moment in cricket:
1952-53 A grade Final, beating Easts 2 outright after our worst A/1st grade total in the sixty year history of the club. Beat the very strong Uralla in the last round to just scrape into the semis and then Easts 1 in the Semi. Played one player short on the first day after a mix up with team sheets and made 163 in the sunshine, Ross Ridley 59. Easts 0-57 at stumps after four dropped catches. Didn't play the second day for two weeks because of the Armidale Show and then after four days of heavy rain. Wicket now a sticky and impossible to bat on. Easts all out for 95, Don Paul 6-24. Batting a second time, Waratahs still one short and Ridley now out injured, all out for 21. Easts needing 90 don't make it to halfway, all out for 43, Don Paul 7-20. Waratahs win their first premiership in only their third season.
