Milestone: Jackson Latham 150 Games

Burnside West Christchurch University Cricket Club | July 30, 2025

Burnside West Christchurch Cricket Club recently had the opportunity to celebrate Jackson Latham’s 150th Premier grade appearance for the club with his blazer updated and presented by Matt Hay

Jackson joined the club in 2012 fresh out of Christs College and played a handful of games before heading south to study in Dunedin. Jackson moved back to Christchurch and re-joined BWCUCC in 2017.

Jackson quickly made an impression in the competition with fast hostile spells and quickly drove the standards of the team with him. Jackson made his Canterbury ‘A’ debut in 2018 on the back of strong club performances, where he played consistently for 7 seasons and won two professional contracts in that time.

Jackson was a key figure in the ‘drought breaking’ 2017 One Day Competition win claiming 5 wickets in the final and being awarded man of the match. Jackson has played a key hand in 6 other trophy successes, two more 50 comps, three red ball competitions and was man of the match in the recent T20 final last season.

Jacko’s numbers speak for themselves and his ability to take the team on his back and change games within a spell has been a huge part of the club’s success in modern times. Go well Jackson!

If you could say one thing to fellow veterans or anyone who’s struggling silently — someone unsure about returning to sport or opening up — what would it be?
