BWCUCC Scores Big with iPad Donation from Christchurch City Council

Burnside West Christchurch University Cricket Club | October 15, 2025

BWCUCC is celebrating a significant boost to its operations ahead of the 2025/26 season, thanks to a generous donation of 40 second hand iPads from the Christchurch City Council through their Computers to the Community Scheme. This timely contribution means that all Saturday morning and afternoon grade teams now have access to iPads for live scoring their matches on PlayHQ, enhancing the game-day experience for players, coaches, and supporters.

Gareth Gibson, representing Burnside Cricket, expressed immense gratitude for the donation. "This is wonderful news," said Gibson. "We are very grateful to the council! The parents and scorers of the teams will be absolutely thrilled."

The club had initially applied for the iPads last year but faced a delay due to insufficient devices. However, Natalie Dally, Community Development Advisor for the CCC, recently confirmed the availability of a batch of 40 devices, allowing the club's request for 28 iPads for morning grade sides to be fulfilled to be extended to all morngin and afternoon grades sides across Junior, Youth, Men's and Women's cricket at the club. This donation will streamline the scoring process, making it more efficient and accessible for all teams.
